The number of people awaiting a first appointment for diabetes services at University Hospital Limerick has fallen by 77% .
New figures released by the HSE show that 573 patients were waiting to see a consultant in the speciality in March of 2022.

As of this month, there are now 127 patients and HSE MidWest is in the process of recruiting two more Clinical Nurse Specialists for the service as well as one and a half whole-time equivalent consultants.
