73 On Trolleys At UHL Today

Trolley numbers at the region’s main hospital are three times higher than any other facility in the country.

The latest figures from nurses union the INMO show 73 patients were waiting for beds at University Hospital Limerick this morning, 58 of those on trolleys in the emergency Department.

The overall figure is 49 more than the next busiest facility, Cork University Hospital and represents more than a fifth of all those waiting to be admitted at hospitals across the country today.
