Passenger numbers at Shannon Airport are set to take off this Christmas period.
70,000 passengers are expected to pass through the mid-west facility from this weekend through to the new year, a 5% increase on the same period last year.
It's the fourth successive rise during the Christmas season that Shannon has received since it received it's independance.
The boost follows confirmation that Norwegian Air International is to establish services from Shannon to North America after receiving its transatlantic permit from the US Department of Transport.
