70% Jump In Trolley Numbers At Region’s Main Hospital

The level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital jumped by 70% in April, compared to the same time last year.

The latest trolleywatch analysis from the INMO shows there were 1,735 patients on trolleys at University Hospital Limerick overall, on a month that saw a record breaking 126 people waiting for beds on one day alone.

Ennis General Hospital saw also recorded an annual rise in trolley numbers from 5 to 19.

Today, there were 112 patients waiting for beds at University Hospital Limerick, accorfing to the INMO, more than double any other hospital in the country.
