45 foreign languages are spoken in Clare, as the primary language of people living here.
Figures published by the Irish Times, based on CSO data, have found that 10,700 Clare residents or 9% of people living here do not use Irish or English as their primary language.

2,600 of those mainly speak Polish, while over 1,000 each converse in French and German.
Other languages which have at least 100 speakers in Clare include Lithuanian, Portuguese, Czeck, Filipino, Yorubo, Urdo and Tagalog.
