The region’s main hospital remains the most overcrowded in the country today – but the number of those waiting for a bed there has again come down.
There are 41 patients in overflow areas at University Hospital Limerick according to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation.

31 of these people are in the emergency department.
It’s 18 more than the next busiest facility, Cork University Hospital – and comes on a day when 161 people are waiting for a bed at hospitals across the country.
