Over 20 new homes are set to come on stream in North Clare.

Clare County Council has made a split decision in relation to a major multi-housing development in Liscannor.

After submitting their initial application for 43 houses over a year ago on the 22nd of August 2022, Patrick, Eilis, Padraig, Dara and Diarmuid Blake have been given the green light for the delivery of 22 residential units.

The development at Holland Drive, Liscannor will comprise of two-bed units, three-bed units and four bed properties, with all ancillary works to completed.

Each unit to be serviced by a new connection to the public water supply and sewerage system, with the latter subject to upgrade works.

Additionally, the developers plan to manage water disposal with the installation of a public drain and soak pit.

The application received sixteen public submissions during the decision period with concerns raised over the capacity of local schools and childcare facilities, while potential flood risk areas were also highlighted.

Ultimately, planning permission was granted subject to 25 conditions.

All of the proposed units are intended to go on sale on the private housing market.
