The big day has arrived for nearly 2,900 Clare students who are preparing for the beginning of their state exams this morning.

1,460 students begin their leaving Certs today, including the leaving Cert Applied, while nearly as many more start the Junior Cert.
Across the country, a record number of students are planning to sit honours maths for the Leaving Cert, with more than 17 thousand indicating they want to sit the paper.
