Clare people are being urged to be careful if they intend to go swimming during the current hot spell.
It comes as temperatures are set to exceed 30 degrees this weekend.
Weather forecasters say the latest charts still show temperatures potentially exceeding 30 degrees from Sunday.
Met Eireann’s issued a high temperature advisory until Wednesday, but has warned this could be upgraded to a warning over the weekend or early next week.
Nighttime is expected to be uncomfortably warm, with overnight temperatures expected to stay above 20 degrees.
While it’s teachnically not a heatwave, Forecaster Aoife Kealy says it’s a lot hotter than what would normally be expected at this time of the year.
Clare County Council advises people using the county’s bathing areas that the safest place to swim is at lifeguarded locations.
Lifeguards are in place from 11am to 7pm daily at 13 locations across the county.
Lahinch Councillor Liam Grant, who’s a lifeguard a trained EMT says everyone should take steps to ensure they minimise risk when heading to the beach.
