21 Rural Areas In Clare To Benefit From Fibre Broadband Roll-Out

21 rural areas across Clare are to benefit from the roll out of high speed fibre broadband over the next five years.

Eircom is investing 400 million euro in the expansion of their service, providing online access to homes and businesses in rural areas across the country.

As part of the National Broadband Plan, the Government aims to ensure that 1.9 million homes across the country with internet access by 2020.

A number of areas including Ballyvaughan, Carron, Doonaha, Kilkee, Kilmaley, Ogonnelloe and Tiermaclane will now have access to high-speed broadband.

Clare Senator Tony Mulcahy, who has campained for better access in the past, is welcoming the announcement.
