As of close of nominations this Saturday afternoon, twenty candidates have been listed in the running for Clare in General Election 2024.
These include three Fine Gael representatives, three for Fianna Fáil, one each for the Greens, Sinn Féin, the Social Democrats, Aontú, People Before Profit, Independent Ireland, the Irish Freedom Party, the Irish People and Rabharta, and five non-party.
Ahead of the change of mind deadline at noon on Monday, twenty candidates have been nominated to run in Clare in General Election 2024.
There are three Fine Gael Candidates, namely sitting Bodyke Councillor Joe Cooney, Kilrush Doctor Tom Nolan and Clarecastle Occupational Therapist Leonora Carey.
Running for Fianna Fáil is sitting Tulla Senator Timmy Dooley, sitting Doonbeg Councillor Rita McInerney and sitting Meelick TD Cathal Crowe.
Deputy Green Party Leader, Inagh Senator Roisin Garvey, Ennis Social Democrats representative and Development worker at WCI Clare, Hillary Tonge, Kilmaley People Before Profit candidate and teacher Caitríona Ní Chatháin have also declared their intention to run.
Cooraclare nurse June Dillon is representing Aontú, sitting Shannon Councillor Donna McGettigan is running for Sinn Féin and Tuamgraney-based Network Engineering Manager Barry O’Donovan is in the running for Rabharta.
Cratloe farmer Eddie Punch is running for Independent Ireland, while Gort Stone Mason Michael Loughrey is running for The Irish People and Corofin Architech Michael Leahy has been nominated for the Irish Freedom Party.
The five non-party candidates are Broadford Farmer Matthew Moroney, Lahinch businessman Paddy Murphy, Kilkee self-employed businessman Kevin Hassett, Ennis Sustainable Energy Engineer Amanda Major and sitting TD Violet-Anne Wynne.
