There’s been an over 16% rise in the number of passports issued to people in Clare.
13,808 passports were issued by the Department of Foreign Affairs to people living in the county in 2025 compared to 11,838 during the previous year.

Applications from Irish citizens living outside of the State saw a significant rise with over 200,609 people applying, revealing an almost 35% increase on 2024 figures.
Overall passport applications fell by 12% to 933,121 while just 302 made their application through the Irish language.
