138 children in the MidWest region were waiting more than one year for a mental health appointment at the end of November.
Overall, 423 minors in Clare, Limerick and North Tipperary were waiting for an initial assessment from the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS).

CAMHS provide specialist mental health services to those aged up to 18 years, who have reached the
threshold for a diagnosis of moderate to severe mental health disorders such as anxiety, depression, Bi Polar Affective disorder, Psychosis, eating disorders, and self-harm.
The MidWest region accounts for almost 11% of the national waiting list.
