133 Patients On Trolleys At UHL Today – INMO

Nurses say the level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital far exceeded the combined total for all ten hospitals serving the east of the country today.

The latest figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation shows there were 133 admitted patients waiting for beds at University Hospital Limerick this morning.

50 of those were on trolleys in the emergency department, with a further 83 accommodated in overflow areas of wards.

The overall figure is 91 more than the next busiest facility, Galway University Hospital, while its 48 more than the total number on trolleys across all ten eastern hospitals, according to the INMO figures.
