1000 migrants rescued by LE Eithne since May

Morale on board the LE Eithne is said to be high this weekend as officers have rescued over one thousand Migrants since it begin it's mission. 

The Irish crew on board are working as part of a European wide effort to prevent the loss of more lives in the Mediterranean Sea.

Last night an operation involving all European vessels in the region continued to try and help those on board 14 vessels floating adrift at sea.
