We have a great guest this week to follow on from last week’s chat with the Bishop of Killaloe, Fintan Monahan.
This week’s In Profile with Alan Morrissey is June Curtin.
June, who is from Spanish Point, suffered a devastating blow when she lost her husband to suicide in August 2013. June’s two children were just 5 and 9 years-old at the time, so the following years were extremely difficult for her and her children.
June eventually set up her own swimming group, called Snámhaí Sásta.
The group meet at Spanish Point beach every morning for a swim, designed to make everyone feel good and they have since developed into a tight-knit community.
June also raised close to €56,000 for Mid West Simon, thanks to her 63 dips in 21 days initiative last December.
