Clarecastle made their return to the top tier of Clare club hurling in emphatic fashion as they beat Corofin by 4-27 to 2-12 in the Premier Intermediate final.
First half goals from Harry Doherty, Conor Halpin and Darragh Healy set the tone of the contest with Bobby Duggan spearheading the Magpies attack in a brilliant battle with Fionn Clancy.
Having played with the wind in the opening period, Clarecastle headed to the dressing rooms with a 3-15 to 0-3 lead, with an incredible work ethic combined with precise deliveries to their inside line all part of a potent mixture.
A fourth goal arrived from Paul O’Connell in the second period to complete the scoring from play for all of Clarecastle’s six starting forwards on the day.
Two late Diarmuid Cahill goals were scant consolation for the North Clare men as Clarecatle atoned for last years final loss to capture the title.
Up next will be a Munster semi final when they will make the short trip to Limerick for a clash with Dromin Athlacca in three weeks time
