Ennis Municipal District hasn’t ruled out using a vacant site on the outskirts of the town centre to increase car parking capacity.
Clarecastle Fianna Fáil Councillor Tom O’Callaghan has proposed convert the brown field site on Francis Street and the Causeway Link road as a temporary car park to cater for attendees of events at Glór as well as visitors to the county town.

Ennis MD has responded saying if it’s the wish of the councillors to provide parking at this site, it will “look to advance” the proposal in January.
Councillor O’Callaghan believe it’s positive that the shortage of parking in the town centre is finally being acknowledged.
