The number of commencement notices issued in Clare has fallen to its fourth lowest level this year
New data from the Department of Housing shows there’s been a significant decline in construction activity in this county over the last twelve months.
Just 17 building commencement notices were issued in Clare in November.
All of these referred to one-off homes, meaning construction began on just 17 homes in this county last month.
It marks a significant decline from the 53 homes which commenced construction in Clare at the same juncture of last year.
So far in the county this year, 104 commencement notices have been issued in respect of 209 units, of these 63% are one-off homes, 19% are in housing estates, with 18% being apartments.
However, it marks a huge markdown on last year’s construction activity in Clare, when at this juncture last year, work had begun on 938 new properties.
This means, that the rate of progress in building works in Clare has fallen by 77% in the last year.
