On Friday’s Morning Focus, Alan was joined by Yevhen Svitlychnyi, Yevhen is an internationally renowned Ukrainian Artist, who sought refuge in Ireland with his wife Yevgenia soon after Russia invaded his country last February.
Since his arrival in North Clare, the Burren College of Art, and its staff have supported him by giving him access to a studio to continue his work. Yevhen exhibited The Burren – Ukrainian Chronicles Part I at the College earlier this year and Part II is currently exhibiting at the Courthouse Gallery in Ennistymon. The exhibition was opened by the Ukrainian ambassador to Ireland, Larysa Gerasko and can be seen until early January.
Yevhen was joined in studio by his interpreter, Marina, and Matthew Mitchell, Chairman of the Board of Directors at the Courthouse Gallery Studios.
