Warning Lack Of Regulation Could Suck Short-Term Let Money Out Of Clare’s Economy

A call has been made for a special derogation in Clare to ensure existing short-term lets can continue to provide their essential accommodation service.

Government is currently revising plans that would require hosts making their properties available for up to 21 days to apply for special planning permission and register them with Fáilte Ireland.

There are over 1,500 homes available for short-term letting in Clare today and the state believes the new legislation will significantly boost long term rental stock.
