A Sixmilebridge Councillor is questioning the motive behind bus licenses that prohibit private operators stopping at Shannon Airport.

Currently, licenses allow for private bus companies to operate on a route between Galway, Limerick and Dublin but does restricts access to the Airport.

The licenses are issued by the National Transport Authority, but questions have been raised over the reason for not allowing more buses to access to the terminal buildings

Independent Councillor PJ Ryan believes this is an example of how some groups are trying to drive down passenger numbers at Shannon.
