Clare’s Aontú representative is calling for national car testing certificates to be extended for 12 months.
It comes amid growing concern over a backlog for NCT appointments, as the national car testing service continues a recruitment drive to fill qualified mechanic posts.
As of today, people in Clare are facing a six-month wait for an appointment to get their car tested, with the next available slots in October.
