‘No Provision’ For Restoration Of Crusheen Rail Station Says Department

The Department of Transport says there’s currently ‘no provision’ for the restoration of a rail station in Crusheen.

It follows the matter being raised in the Seanad this week ahead of the publication of the All Island Strategic Review, which is currently being held up due to the impasse at Stormont.

The station was closed in 1976 for passenger traffic and halted freight traffic in the 1990s, but its infrastructure remains intact.
