Median Age Of Home Buyers In Clare Now 39

The median age of home buyers in Clare is now 39 years of age.

Figures from the Central Statistics Office, which have just been published, show more than 1,100 homes were purchased in this county in 2021, as Clare FMs Fiona Cahill reports.

The data collected by the CSO, which examined local authority areas, shows 1,130 homes were purchased in Clare in 2021.

More than 53% of those, or 610, involved a mortgage in the transaction, with the remaining 520 purchases carried out without a mortgage.

Homes purchased with a mortgage had a median price paid of €223,500, compared with €160,000 for those without a mortgage, a difference of €63,500.

The average loan amount in this county was €164,000, while the average age of house buyers in Clare was 39 for those with a mortgage and 49 for those without.

In addition, the data shows that home buyers in the banner who had a mortgage were earning €69,000, while the income for those without the loan was €42,100.
