House Prices In Clare Up 4% In A Year

The average price paid for a dwelling in Clare has risen by 4% in the last year.

New data released by the Central Statistics Office has revealed that €240,000 was the median price paid for a house or apartment in this county in the last year.

House prices have continued to rise nationwide and Clare is no exception, with the average price paid for a dwelling here up over 4% in the year leading up to October compared to the same period last year.

In the month of October, €250,000 was the average price paid for a dwelling which is up more than 6% on €235,000 for the same month last year.

In the Kilrush Eircode area, the average price has increased by 12% to €185,000 while in Shannon prices have soared by 9% to an average of €185,000 and Ennis has seen a marginal increase from €250,000 to €253,750.

This October was the quietest month in the last year in terms of volume of sales, with just 67 executions taking place compared to 98 last year.

Nationally, dwelling purchases were up by 7.2% to 4,604 in the year to October which the average price for a home was €323,000.
