Health Minister Appears To Rule Out Model 3 Hospital For Midwest Region

The Health Minister has appeared to rule out the possibility of a model three hospital for the Midwest region.

It’s despite the suggestion that Ennis, Nenagh, St John’s or an alternative site should be identified for such an upgrade in a HIQA report published on University Hospital Limerick’s emergency department earlier this year.

A new two million euro injury unit opened in Ennis back in April, and it’s understood more capacity upgrades there are being considered.
