Clare SVP President Says 100 Euro Energy Bill Voucher Will Be Eaten Up By Price Increases

The Clare President of SVP says the Government’s one off effort to reduce the cost of energy bills will be eaten up by continued increases in prices.

Energy costs have risen sharply, and there are fears they could go even higher as tensions build on the Russia/Ukraine border.

Minister Eamon Ryan has admitted the Government may need to do more than the 100 euro voucher being given to all electricity billpayers.

Speaking with Clare FM’s Josh Prenderville, Clare SVP President Denis Carty says an increasing number of people are having to decide between eating properly or turning on their heating.
