Clare Roots Society to Hold Lecture to Mark the Launch of The Virtual Record Treasury of Ireland

On Thursday’s Morning Focus, Alan was joined by Eric Shaw who is the Founding member of the Clare Roots Society. Eric discussed the Clare Roots Society along with the lecture which they are set to hold to mark the launch of the Virtual Record Treasury of Ireland. The lecture is set to be hosted by Dr Brian Gurrin and will take place at the Clare Education Centre, Kilrush Road Ennis V95 F782 on the 19th of January at 8pm. He discussed the content of the lecture which will focus on the lost Public Records Office and how the Virtual Record Treasury came into place. He spoke about the Public Record Office which was destroyed in an explosion at the beginning of the Civil War. He also encouraged people to come forward and join the Clare Roots Society with an annual membership costing €20.
