A Clare Government Senator says a continuous assessment model needs to be urgently examined for the future of the Leaving Cert exams.
The Department of Education has confirmed it will not proceed with a hybrid model this summer, with students facing written exams in all subjects, though with greater choice and less questions to be answered.
It’s prompted a backlash from the Irish Second Level Students Union, who’ve criticised the lack of consultation with pupils before the decision was made.
