Clare Environmental Group Calls On Minister Not To Make LNG U-Turn

A Clare environmental group is among the 150 signatories of an open letter to Energy Minister Eamon Ryan calling on him to confirm he won’t make a U-turn on the current agreed government policy against LNG and the importation of fracked gas to Ireland.

FutureProof Clare is expressing concerns made by the Green Party leader which suggested the ban, which they say was a red line issue in the programme for Government, could be reversed.

A decision on the Shannon LNG project is currently under review by An Bord Pleanála, with the outcome of the upcoming energy review being central to the final call.
