Clare County Council Calling For Heating Supports To Cut Down High Carbon Fuels

Clare County Council says more home heating supports are needed to cut down on high carbon fuels.

This is in response to a new Liquid Gas Ireland report that shows 68% of Clare households still rely on high carbon fuel sources for home heating and the number of homes using oil for heating has jumped to over 27,000 last year.

The local authority’s Climate Action Co-Ordinator, Morgan Lahiffe, says lower income households are priced out of renewable heating.
