Clare Builder Says Six Month Wait To Replace Deputy Chair At An Bord Pleanala Shows System Moves At ‘Snails Pace’

A Clare builder says the six-month delay to appoint a replacement for the Deputy Chair of An Bord Pleanala highlights how slow the system is.

It comes as new analysis shows that almost 29,000 proposed houses or apartments are currently awaiting a decision from the independent planning body.

Deputy Chairperson Paul Hyde resigned from his position in July, while chair Dave Walsh followed suit in November, with replacement’s for both positions only announced this month.
