Calls For Standardised Fares On Clare Public Transport Services

A Clare Senator claims people are foregoing public transport due to price discrepancies on public services.

It comes as constituents availing of routes from Ennis to Ennistymon have raised concerns over a €4.30 difference in the price of a ticket for a 6:30am service with Bus Eireann and a 6:40am service with TFI local link.

Currently Clare has the second lowest proportion of people using the bus to travel in the county, with just 4,991 people doing so on a daily basis.

Ennistymon Fine Gael Senator Martin Conway believes the “senseless approach” is deterring people from using the service.
