61% Increase In Calls To Cancer Helpline In Clare Last Year

There was a 61% increase in calls to the Irish Cancer Society helpline in Clare last year.

Last year in Clare, the charity provided 240 night nurses for end-of-life care, 229 bookings for their patient travel service and received over 180 calls to their support line.

Daffodil Day will take place on Friday, March 22nd and individuals, schools and workplaces are being urged to set up their own fundraiser through selling Daffodil Pins, a virtual bucket collection or a 12,000 steps-a-day challenge.

Volunteer Daffodil Day Coordinator from Ennis, Siobhan Connaghan, says cancer affects half of all families in the country so it is important to give support where you can.
