Shannon Airport is to receive a welcome boost as record numbers of passengers are expected to descend on the midwest facilty for the St Patrick’s Day long weekend.
Over 21,000 passengers are due to pass through the airport over the coming days, which is the highest number for this holiday period in three years.
The restart of its transatlantic air services, the addition of the extra bank holiday and international events like the Cheltenham racing festival are believed to be behind the boost.
