The Today Show – Friday May 25th

Eoin Murphy is the Entertainment Editor of the Irish Daily Mail; he joined Gavin Grace on The Today Show live from Azerbaijan. The Grand Final of Eurovision 2012 takes place tomorrow night in Baku, Azerbaijan.  Jedward are making their mark following their success in the first semi final on Tuesday last.  But they twins are reportedly pretty stressed out right now because the water fountain they stand under at the end of the routine isn’t working properly. Apparently their extravagant costumes are to blame – the sequins have blocked up the drain!

Molly Muldoon, Deputy Editor of Irish Central joined the show from New York. Molly spoke about what’s making headlines stateside such as the floating of facebook on the stock market, an unfortunate scam of Irish students heading to the US on their J1 visas and efforts to raise funds for the Irish Jewish museum in Dublin.

Roisin Garvey spoke to Gavin ahead of events taking place in Lahinch over the weekend. Ennis Gospel Choir’s Night at the Movies comes to Lahinch Seaworld on Saturday May 26th, while on Sunday a ‘Nearly New’ sale of baby and children’s goods will be held in Seaworld from 1 – 3pm.  All money raised is in aid of Burren Sonas Kindergarden (the sale will include second-hand and nearly new: baby and child clothes, toys, books, etc (up to age 6), maternity wear, parenting books and baby and nursery equipment).

Len Gaynor, the former Clare Manager and Tipperary native joined Gavin for a look ahead to the Munster Hurling Championship. The Tipperary senior hurlers have selected their side ahead of Sunday’s Munster quarter-final against Limerick. Manager Declan Ryan has named just one debutant in his side, with Donagh Maher starting at corner-back. As expected, there’s no starting role for former Hurler of the Year Lar Corbett following his recent return to the panel with Brian O’Meara starting at full-forward. While Clare FM’s Kevin McGillicuddy, Presenter of Sideline View was in studio to give us a preview of tonight’s show.
