Clouna National School Students Host ‘The Big Print’

Alan chatted recently on the show about Cruinniú na nÓg, the one-day event held annually on June 11th, for children and young people under 18.

As part of it the students of Scoil Cholmcille, Clouna National School in Ennistymon did workshops with artist Tessa Badenhorst, learning about different print processes. They illustrated local folklore stories told by Tom Barry through print and created their own book, learning about the hare’s corner and creating lino prints, making flyers for advertising for our community event and more.
The school also hosted a community-based print activity called ‘The Big Print’, where they created a collaborative large-scale print that was printed using a 4 tonne steamroller!
Alan decided to pop out to Scoil Cholmcille, Clouna National School on the day to find out more.
