Karina Timothy Advice Worker, with Galway Threshold joined the show to give our listeners advice on the security of tenure in private rented tenancies. Karina says there has been an increased number of queries from tenants who have been served notice to leave – a Notice of Termination – by their landlord/agent. Many tenants/landlords are unaware of what a valid Notice of Termination should contain or of the reasons why a notice can be served. Many tenants are acting on invalid notices and leaving their homes when they may not have to. The Threshold Outreach Clinic is held in Ennis Citizen's Information Centre (CIC) every third Thursday of the month. An advice worker (Karina) is available to offer tenants information, advice and advocacy if necessary for any tenancy issues they may have.
Eileen Woodford of Nucleus Coaching in Ennis joined us on the show to speak about planning for retirement and advice on dealing with such change. This conversation is podcast on www.clare.fm/podcasts
