The show opened with a discussion of why so many assaults on frontline medical staff go un-prosecuted. Last year saw almost 50 assaults on paramedics, but none of these lead to a prosecution. Gavin discussed the issue with Tony Greg a paramedic and secretary of NASRA. Listen back below:

Cathy has written openly about her own mental health on her website, mentallybeautiful.com, and she gave her reaction to a survey showing that close to a third of people in Munster would be reluctant to work with people who have mental health issues. Donal Ó Lionsigh of Clare FM was Gavin’s next guest in studio following a visit to Loop Head by the Gaeltacht minister, Michael Ring. Coláiste Eoghain Uí Chomhraidhe is looking for funding to become a major driver of cultural tourism on the peninsula.

The talk then turned to the issue of business in Ennis, when Gavin was joined on the line by Joanna White of Celtic Fairy Doors. Joanna is among those to be nominated in the Bank of Ireland Start-Up Awards.
