On Wednesday’s Morning Focus, talks about the Fodder Crisis were plentiful. The lack of supplies has been deeply felt in Clare and in effort to support local farmers, Shannon Airport have made the grass at their airfield available to cut for silage.

Fianna Fáil Councillor Pat Hayes and the Clare chair of ICMSA, Martin McMahon joined Gavin to to talk about the long on-going problem.

As well as that, Gavin spoke with Niall Moloney who is the Operations Director at Shannon Airport.

To kick off the show, Morning Focus heard from UL President Dr. Des Fitzgerald about the Clare County Council’s plans for a new town on the Clare side of the UL campus.

Following that, Councillor Alan O’Callaghan addressed concerns surrounding the drop in the rate of detection for Clare drug offences. He believes that detection is down due to a lack of resources in local Garda stations.

Then there was advice for people in long term mortgage arrears and for people with long over due loans as Elaine Clifford of Clare MABS joined Gavin on the line to give some helpful tips on how to deal with looming loans.

Gavin also chatted with Niamh Wiley, Chairperson of the Scariff Community Council and newly appointed Chairperson of the recently formed Scariff ‘Town Team’.

The show was taken on a musical journey when all female ensemble, El Divas visited the studio. Janet Woods, Amanda Minihan and Helen Catherine Ball, will be performing in Glór on the 14th of April. They will be accompanied by Michael Hennessy and the show will feature much more.

Next, Gavin met an Ennis couple who have been winning big on account of positive thing. Faye Bradley and Marina Murphy have won over 110 competitions in the last year and they credit it all to one great self-help book.
