This morning’s show covered everything from politics and literature to drama, including an interview with Turkish author, Elif Shafak.

Clare independent TD, Deputy Michael Harty discussed his intentions to support a Sinn Féin motion of ‘no confidence’ in the Health Minister Simon Harris. This is in light of news that the 60-bed modular unit at Dooradoyle will now not open until mid-2020.

Fine Gael Deputy Joe Carey was live in the studio reacting to Harty’s decision to support the motion following the announcement that the University Hospital Limerick facility will not open this winter as scheduled.

We also heard from Councillor Cathal Crowe (FF) about a policing meeting in South East Clare, expressing concerns at the low level of policing in the densely populated area.

After that, John Lowe, Financial Advisor, was on the show reviewing inheritance and will-writing.

Elif Shafak joined us then to talk about her upcoming visit to glór on March 2nd 2019 for the Ennis Book Club Festival. The award-winning novelist and women’s rights activist talked about the festival, oral histories and much more!

Kildysart Drama Group are to put on their annual production in the Community Centre the first two weekends of March. Jane Casey, who has directed a majority of the pieces, was on air with Gavin to talk about what this year has to offer in Tommy Marren’s comedy ‘Nobody’s Talking to me’.

Finally, we were joined by Frankie Coote, the Clare County Dog Warden to discuss animal welfare and long lost kittens.
