A packed edition of Morning Focus put politics to the fore as Dr Michael Harty, Clare’s Independent TD discussed whether or not he’ll back Leo Varadkar to be the new Taoiseach.

Deputy Harty told Gavin the response he’d received to his political ‘wish list’ for Clare was non-committal, giving him cause to reconsider his support in the vote on Taoiseach next Wednesday.

The London attacks have given rise to concerns that we may not be ready in the event of a similar attack in this country. Gavin was joined by Tom Brady, Security Correspondent of Independent News and Media.
