In Kilrush activists will hand out information leaflets throughout the town from 10am convening at 2pm in the Market Square
In Ennis a march is being organised in Ennis town centre – gathering at 2pm at the Square

On Friday’s Morning Focus Karen McCormack from Kilbaha and the Kilkee branch of the Anti Household Charge Campaign and Brian O’Cullain of the Ennis branch of the Socialist Workers Party explained what will be happening tomorrow. 
Frankie Neylon, Independent Ennis Town Councillor was critical of those who are encouraging people to break the law.

The local community in Kilrush are being asked to participate in the public consultation process for the preparation of the Kilrush Development Plan 2014-2020, details of which were announced this week
The review of the Plan will feature informal public information events at Moore Street (former Clohessy Electrical Sales store) on Tuesday 28th and Wednesday 29th February from 12pm to 7pm
Council officials also will brief local children as part of Development Plan process during visits to local schools on Monday
Mayor of Kilrush Ian Lynch and Brian McCarthy, Senior Planner with Clare County Council joined John in studio to explain.

Three students have launched a High Court challenge against cuts to higher level grants
Mebh McCarthy from Burrin, between NewQuay and Kinvara is one of three students taking on Dept of Ed and Skills challenging the reverse cuts made as part of budget 2011 to higher education maintenance grant
All say they’re out several thousand euro as a result of changes to the criteria used to award grants under last year’s Students Support Act
They claim the Education Minister has no right to change the grants of students who are already in the college system
Gary Redmond of the Students’ Union of Ireland explained the case.

Ennis Chamber and Ennis Development Forum are to host a meeting  for businesses and interested parties regarding the proposed Clare Road Development on Monday, the 27th of February from 6.15pm-7.15pm in the Banner Room of the Old Ground Hotel, Ennis
The proposed development for a 70,000 foot shopping unit, which was refused planning by Ennis Town Council in January, is being appealed by the developers to An Bord Pleanala
The purpose of the meeting on Monday evening is to inform the business community and others of the appeal process to An Bord Pleanala which has a closing date of Friday the 2nd of March for acceptance of submissions

The growth of St. Senan’s reflected the growth and development of Shannon in every way

George Cunningham is the guest speaker at the North Clare Historical Society’s lecture series this Monday at 8pm – entitled ‘My Burren Journey’
He is the author of the highly acclaimed Burren Journey series of books and was instrumental in setting up the Burren Spring Conference- he co-directed and organised from 1991 to 2003
Now living in Roscrea, this is the first occasion in several years that he will be delivering a talk in North Clare
For this reason organisers expect the event to generate a lot of public interest
George had a word about his time as a pupil in St. Flannan’s College in the fifties and his forty year love affair with the Burren.

Limerick Institute of Technology event management students are asking Clare people to support their quest to break the world record for the largest puppet show this Sunday in the Milk Market in Limerick
They need 500 people with puppets to attend in order to break the world record The event is family orientated but will be a fun day out for all
Funds raised goes to the Irish Cancer Society – Dara Fahy, Event Management Student at LIT urged people to support it.
