The Friday edition of Morning Focus was a lively mix of news, debate and entertainment updates, featuring an in-studio interview with Minister Katherine Zappone at the top of the show.

The issue of suicide and its impact on the farming community was then discussed when Gavin was joined by Séamus Sherlock of the ICMSA who has been working to combat rural isolation.

The Elevate Foundation, started by John Burke, MD of the Armada Hotel and Everest-conquering mountaineer has recruited Clare dual code star Podge Collins. He joined Gavin to talk about his new role. Listen back below:

Culture Night in Clare was the next topic for discussion, as Gavin was joined in studio by Siobhán Mulcahy, Clare County Arts Officer and Imelda Cahill, Coordinator for Culture Night in Clare. James Kelly from Kilfenora updated Gavin on what’s going on there, and in particular a time capsule project which people in the village are being invited to before September 30.

The round up spoke to Carole Head about the Clare Older People’s Volunteers Awards; Teresa Browne about the East Clare Cluster Mass on Holy Island on Sunday (Sept 24) and Gerry O’Reilly, Chairperson of the Clare Association in Dublin.

The Friday Panel discussed fake breath tests, Donald Trump, Ryanair, Ennis Train Station and classic movies. Gavin was joined in studio by Sharon Cahir, Cahir & Co Solicitors, Ennis; Diarmuid McMahon
