The Everest conqueror from Spanish Point was joined by a man who has beaten alcohol addiction and is now getting set for a 1,000 mile ultramarathon in Alaska next month. They told Gavin Grace about their hopes of sharing the message of positive mental health. Listen back below:
Morning Focus opened with a discussion of the ongoing crisis in terms of Emergency Department overcrowding. Gavin heard from Tadhg Daly of Nursing Homes Ireland on the role his organisation’s members might play in addressing the issue.
Miriam Duffy of Rape Crisis Midwest was Gavin’s next guest. She gave her reaction to news from Minister Katherine Zappone that a new study of sexual violence in Ireland is to be funded, and classes on sexual consent are to be rolled out in secondary schools. Listen back below:
Gavin then spoke to Joanne Foley of Matrix Recruitment about a new study on the impact of workplace stress and its impact on staff.
There was live music too as Anne Rynne, Claire Watts and Shona Blaked joined Gavin in studio under their stage name ‘Three Women Sing’.
