Thursday’s Morning Focus featured an exclusive interview with Eric Trump, who Gavin spoke to at the Trump Hotel & Golf Course in Doonbeg.

We heard from Eric about being the son of one of the most powerful men in the World, and about the support for Trump from locals – something Eric said meant a lot to him.

The programme also heard from Shane O’Malley, who suffered catastrophic injuries when a tractor wheel he was working on exploded, leaving him blind. Shane has turned to raising money for the Irish Guide Dog Foundation and is holding a Dine in the Dark event this weekend. We gave away two tickets, which were one by Deirdre Comber in Mullagh.

Elaine Hogan, the Postmaster in Miltown Malby joined Gavin for a discussion on the Post Office Network. There has been warning signs from An Post that up to 265 Post Offices could be cut. However, Elaine warned that this figure could be much higher.

Yesterday we spoke to Clare County Council’s Ger Dollard about the suspension of new licenses to bus operators hoping to set people down at the Cliffs of Moher. Paul O’Donnell is a Tour Bus Operator and joined Gavin to discuss the potential effects.

Calls for immediate redress for thousands of children who were in mother & baby homes have been rejected by the Government. Paul Redmond is the Chairperson of the Coalition of Mother & Baby Home Survivors and says he is furious at the decision, and joined Gavin to explain why.

Councillor Mary Howard and Marie Molloy joined Gavin in studio. They spoke to him about a new Safe Talk training session in Ennis, which aims to help people recognise signs that someone might be a suicide risk.

Today is Cystic Fibrosis day and Kenneth Flannagan of the Clare Branch of Cystic Fibrosis Ireland joined Gavin to discuss 65 Roses Day. We also heard from Declan Meaney, the Uncle of the late Grainne Golden, a CF sufferer who passed away last year. He has organised the 5K of Cree in aid of CFI and told Gavin more.

The Women’s Rugby World Cup will be in Clare this weekend and Marie Clancy from Kilrush Rugby Club spoke to Gavin about when and where we can see it. John Rattigan from the Clare Museum rounded out the show by updating Gavin on what’s new at the museum, and telling him about events going on over the Easter.
