Morning Focus opened with a discussion with Senator Martin Conway, Ennistymon-based FG member, of the ‘Grace’ controversy. He’s calling for the inquiry to be extended to consider the cases of other residents of the same foster home.

On the issue of the ongoing controversy over discoveries of human remains at the Mother and Baby home site in Tuam, Bishop of Killaloe, Fintan Monahan (who’s a former secretary to the Archdiocese of Tuam) joined Gavin on the line.

As calls mount for the legalisation of medicinal cannabis, Gavin was joined by Professor David P Finn, President of the Irish Pain Society.

Financial Advisor, Tommy Corbett, of Carey Corbett in Ennis, joined Gavin for his fortnightly slot and discussed the topic of car insurance.

Elements of the forthcoming Heritage Bill are causing concern for environmentalists and Tom Lynch of Birdwatch Ireland, Clare, joined Gavin in studio to discuss these.

After the launch of the annual Daffodil Day event in Clare, Gavin was joined in studio by Hilary Gough a night nurse with the Irish Cancer Society and by Michael Guerin, a volunteer who’s father set up the fundraiser in Clare.

The director of a new documentary on surfers in Lahinch then joined Gavin. Ross Whitaker made ‘Between Land and Sea’ after spending a year observing surfers in the North Clare town.

Ben Sweeney then presented a special package on Seachtain na Gaeilge in Clare.

Dave Flynn Director of the Irish Memory Orchestra then joined Gavin on the line to discuss its Apprentice Scheme.
