Plans to commemorate one of Clare's greatest and most flamboyant characters in Ennis could see a statue erected in his honour.
Members of the Ennis Municipal District have described the late Michael Tierney as being part of local folklore and say it's only right that he would be remembered for his colourful personality, choice of exotic hats, and above all his kindness to everyone he met.
Deputy Mayor of Ennis Cllr Mary Howard spoke to John Cooke about the plans.
