Wet Rain Precedes Garda Speeding Clampdown

Caution is urged on the county’s road this morning, after heavy overnight rain.

While a flood warning is in place until 6 o’clock this evening, Met Eireann says the majority of the rain forecast for today fell last night. Gardai report wet roads across the county this morning, particularly in East and North Clare

It comes as local Gardai are involved in a clampdown on speed today.

The National Slow Down Day initiative is in place from 7 o’clock this morning in an effort to reduce the number of fatalities this bank holiday weekend.
